Efforts to stop climate change must involve local governments, says a recent report by Sierra Legal,
and we agree.

Municipal governments are on the front lines when it comes to dealing with the effects of climate change,
and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities has long argued they have an important role to play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency now offers the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings, a component of the ecoENERGY Retrofit financial incentives for homes, buildings and industrial processes.

The first call for proposals began on June 15 with a deadline of September 15, 2007.
